Our Environmental Responsibility – Combating Climate Change

Forward to a friendForward to a friend PrintPrint

It is now universally acknowledged that climate change is a reality, imposing potentially adverse consequences on the environment, and potentially lasting impact on the social and economic structure of the world’s communities.

BNP Paribas decided that climate change should be a priority focus. Amongst a number of national and international frameworks agreements the Group committed, BNP Paribas signed the Climate Principles to play an active role in the fight against climate change.

In line with BNP Paribas’ commitment to be a “Responsible Bank”, concrete actions have been taken in respect of its engagement to combat climate change:

  1. define financing policy commitments in sensitive sectors;
  2. reduce environmental footprint linked to our operations;
  3. support scientific research on climate change.

GLOBAL INVESTOR FORUM ON CLIMATE CHANGE, 13-14 JUNE 2013, HONG KONG

As part as its commitment to responsible investing and to fight against climate change, BNP Paribas took the lead in being a major sponsor of the “First Global Investor Forum in Climate Change” which will be held in Hong Kong on the 13th & 14th June 2013.

This Forum is organized by the four international investor groups and it provides an occasion to both investors from developed and emerging markets to debate on climate related risks and investment opportunities.

One of our experts, Ian Simm, CEO, Impax Asset Management, a BNP Paribas Investment Partner, will join a panel on “The realities of a changing climate: what does this mean for investors and businesses?”.
